Imovie Vs Premiere

broken image

I've been using PCs since the very first IBM but have since become impressed with the Apple MacBook Pro my wife recently bought for her design business - it really does do everything out of the box!
Last year I bought Adobe Premier Elements 3.0 to archive and sort DV material from our Canon MV750i and, via this, analogue stuff from Sony Hi8 camcorder it replaced (..but the moment this is unused - still shrink-wrapped!). I do not intend to do much editing other than remove the rubbish and perhaps add basic titles.
However I needed to put something on DVD quickly yesterday and was amazed how straightforward this was using iMovie and iDVD on the Mac.
So first question is does anyone no of a head-to-head review of the merits of iMovie compared with Premiere Elements. Alternatively personal views/recommendations would be useful.
A related but separate question is what is the best way of archiving the original material from tape to hard disk - I noticed that iMovie separated the original material into a number of .avi files; is there a way of e.g. getting one .avi file per full tape? Also is .avi compressed?
Hope I'm not duplicating an already asked and answered question - I did look before posting but couldn't find anything (but then may not have been looking in the right place!).
Many thanks.

What is iMovie?

Premiere

Imovie Vs Premiere Rush

iMovie is an Apple video editing software which only runs on the Macintosh operating system. As the basic video editing solution from Apple, it is quite novice-friendly and allows users to create movies from a number of different sources including digital video cameras, DV-encoded files, and images and do various simple tasks to the videos like add video titles, perform simple transitions etc.

Netshred x 5 5. When it comes to editing video, there are many editing programs for you to choose from but is it best to go for something for basic, like iMovie? Or something more advanced, like Premiere Pro? In this video, I talk through the good and bad things about both to help you make a decision. IMovie Vs Adobe Premiere Pro 1. Having had good experiences with both software's, as editor, it was very difficult for me to decide which to use for the editing of my horror trailer ‘Twisted'. In order to make this decision, I had to weigh up both the advantages and disadvantages of each. If you compare Premiere Rush vs Pro, the latter is a pro-level iMovie Windows alternative. With Premiere Pro, you can apply transitions, add effects to your video and stabilize footage. You get tools for adjusting smoothness and automatic scaling. Just like in iMovie, you can manage white balance, contrast, highlights, shadows, exposure, etc. Turnon 1 0 0 7 download free. IMovie is not competing against Adobe Premiere Pro. It's not meant to be as powerful, nor will it allow you to create content that matches the quality possible with Premiere Pro (Apple's own Final Cut Pro is the company's competitor for matching Adobe's offering). IMovie, however, is a great place to start, especially if you're not certain what you need in terms of video editing features or even what you're doing.

Pros and Cons of iMoive

Imovie Vs Premiere Elements

Pros:
1. User friendly and easy to use and learn. Even if you are a newbie, you can start editing videos with iMovie right away, however time would be taken if you want to get the hang of it. You are allowed to add some effects and background music, combine several photos at once, and organize your videos to experience great function of this video editing software.
2. Friendly interface. The organized function layout and design on its friendly interface give you great convenience when you are editing your videos.
3. Convenient videos sharing. You are allowed to share and publish your edited videos on videos sites like YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo directly with iMovie.

Imovie Vs Premiere Pro

Cons
1. According to most Apple's products owners, not all varieties of MP4 are supported by iMovie due to its incompatibility, in addition to many other video formats. This issue is no doubt quite annoying as MP4 today is one of the most popular and most used video formats.
2. The storage space is quite limited which leads to difficulty if you have large number of projects. So you will need external hard drive soon.
